This week we talk to Professor Victoria Crittenden, Professor of Marketing and Chair of the Marketing Division at Babson College USA. We address female entrepreneurship through direct selling, highlighting some of the benefits it yields, such as financial independence, empowerment choices and self confidence. Success in the direct selling space is dependent on entrepreneurs engaging with their customers. Social media is increasingly replacing the traditional door-to-door physical contact approach. Therefore, for women to increase their odds of success they need to master their social media skills to build client networks and accrue social capital.
