This week, in recognition of Heritage Day on 24th September, Womanity Women-in-Unity presents a compilation featuring three guests who discuss heritage and the contribution of arts and culture to society. First we hear from Professor Natasha Erlank, who is an historian at the University of Johannesburg; we discuss some historic moments of importance for women and how history transitions into heritage. Next, Professor Nombeko Mpako, the Acting Director of The School of Arts at the University of South Africa and Chairperson of Department of Art History, Visual Arts and Musicology, talks about the the role of art education in youth development and concludes with an overview of some of South Africa’s successful female artists.
