International Women’s Day Gender Equality – Part 1

This week on Womanity-Women in Unity, we commemorate International Women’s Day, which is celebrated annually on the 8th of March. This year’s theme is Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.  The leaders featured in today’s compilation share their views on the significance of International Women’s Day and gender equality. The Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea Librada Ela Asumu speaks about opportunity, leadership, commitment and employment as factors that contribute to gender equality. Member of parliament Alexandra Abrahams from the Democratic Alliance shares a few inspirational words that contribute to success, such as investing into your focal area, seeking out individuals that know more than you, surrounding yourself with supportive people and showing kindness to others. Member of parliament Zandile Majozi from the Inkatha Freedom Party reminds us that women’s issues need year round solutions not just attention for one day in the annual calendar. Tune in for more…
