Parliament has recently approved a policy that 40% of public procurement should go to women owned businesses. Two development funding institutions; the National Empowerment Fund and the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) have specific funds that focus on growing the gender dividend. The IDC for instance provides female entrepreneurs with funding up to R30million per transaction.
