Parliamentarian & Chairperson Portfolio Committee Higher Education: Pinky Phosa

This week we are joined by Yvonne ‘Pinky’ Nkwenkwezi Phosa – Parliamentarian and Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee for Higher Education & Training. We emphasise that education is at the centre of development for South African society and the country’s economic productivity. Concerted efforts are underway to reduce poverty and create jobs via collaborations between industry and government. One example is an artisan program that is tied to infrastructure development projects and promotes entrepreneurship. We discuss the advantages of e-learning, particularly amongst women in order to flexibly incorporate education and learning into busy schedules and open new doors of possibilities. In the working world, we underscore the importance of focus, hard work, perseverance and the impact of legacy projects as testaments of success. Tune in for more….
