This week on Womanity – Women in Unity, Dr. Amaleya Goneos-Malka talks to the Ambassador of the United States of America to South Africa – Lana Marks. We discuss the Ambassador’s multifaceted career; traversing sport, business and the diplomatic corps. We reflect on some of the programs the US mission has developed to empower women, as well as its forthcoming summit for women in 2021. Ambassador Marks shares some of her drivers for success, highlighting the self-belief to trust in one’s own abilities and practicing effective communication.   We consider women in leadership and female attributes that contribute to their success, reflecting on several female heads of state notably Jacinda Ardern, Sanna Marin, Angela Merkel and Tsai Ing-wen who have curtailed the spread of COVID-19 in their respective countries.
