Minister of Environmental Affairs South Africa: Edna Molewa

This week as we continue to celebrate Women’s Month in South Africa, we are joined by Edna Molewa, Minister of Environmental Affairs, South Africa. Our conversation reflects on the progress women have made in South Africa, particularly in the political arena and touches on several elements to promote gender equality in the private sector. This includes the Women’s Charter of 1954, as a guiding strategy, and more recently the Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Bill; the capability of women to unite collectively for causes, irrespective of their political allegiances; extending the role of women in government to support women in the private sector.
