Women in leadership with BP Southern Africa CEO Taelo Mojapelo
This week on Womanity-Women in Unity, Dr. Amaleya Goneos-Malka talks to the CEO of BP Southern Africa, Ms Taelo Mojapelo. She shares key career and life moments that have shaped her, with courage being a guiding force. We discuss the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles and factors affecting this, from underdeveloped soft skills to operating in a patriarchal environment. We highlight the responsibility of female leaders to not only develop upcoming women but open opportunities for them to ascend to the top. For example, BP Southern Africa now has 45% female representation at executive level. Gender equity and the fight for female emancipation is not under the jurisdiction of women alone; to accelerate these agendas men need to advocate for these issues too. Tune in for more.
