Author and Performer – Gcina Mhlophe

This week we talk to renowned South Africa author and performer Dr Gcina Mhlophe, who has been writing and performing on stage and screen for over 30 years. We discuss landmarks in her career, her efforts to preserve the art of storytelling as a means of keeping history alive and to wake up stories in other people, as well as her work to promote literacy and reading in rural areas. We remark on the detrimental effects that inadequate infrastructure has on women from public transportation to health care.
